Beginning in St Béat, in the French Midi-Pyrenees, Roger will be snowshoeing over high mountain passes, travelling through a frozen world of breathtaking serenity. Led by qualified mountain guides and walking up to eight hours a day, this incredible challenge will test Roger against nature and the elements in the mountains of north-eastern Spain.
I will be trekking for 8 hours a day for 3 days in snow at heights of over 2000 metres high in freezing temperatures.
Another element of the challenge is that I will be required to carry your own gear between the mountain refuges whilst in the mountains.
A major part of the challenge isn't just the trip itself, but the year of preparation with regular training exercising including lots of trekking (it's not easy to practice snow shoeing in Teignmouth, but I have to be as fit as possible to complete this unique challenge) as well as other types of exercise plus trying to raise as much money as possible for Parkinson's UK.
