Every challenge requires a reason and for this challenge I decided to raise money for a charity which is much closer to home.
My late grandfather William Lawrence suffered from Parkinson's Disease where I saw him deteriorate in his later years, his tremors slowly got worse and other symptoms began to take hold with not just tremors but with other Parkinson's symptoms. It took its toll not just on him, but on the rest of his family. And now I feel I would like to help raise money for a charity that supports suffers, their families as well as researching ways to cure the disease.
This charity was also close to my late grandfather's heart too, as he helped out his local Exeter group, hosting meetings and doing a newsletter.
While Parkinson's only affects 1 in 500 people, it is a horrible disease that changes everything.
Other well known people who suffer from Parkinson's include Muhammad Ali & Michael J Fox.
